Rent power tools from neighbours who already own them.
Panda Society is a rental marketplace for tools. Borrow the drill, saw or sander you need for one job, by the day, from someone a few streets away. Got tools sitting in a cupboard? Rent them out.
Every rental is backed by a promissory note for the gear's full value. Why buy a hammer drill for six holes?
Most tools are used for a few minutes in their whole life, then sit in a cupboard. Panda Society connects the people who have them with the people who need them this weekend.
Tools sit in cupboards most of the year
A drill works for a few minutes, then waits for the next shelf.
Owners rent it out by the day
They set the price, approve every renter, and hand it over in person.
You get the right tool for the job
Pay for the afternoon you use it, not for the years it sits in a box.

How it will work
Find a tool near you
Search by tool or by job. Every listing belongs to someone in your area who owns it.
Request your dates
The owner sees who you are and approves the booking. Nothing is confirmed until they do.
Pick up, build, return
Collect it in person, check it runs together, bring it back when you agreed.
Every rental is backed by a promissory note.
Before their first pickup, every renter signs a promissory note for the full value of the gear. Owners carry zero liability, renters know exactly what they're responsible for, and every booking on Panda Society has real money standing behind it.
What's a promissory note?
It's a deposit that never touches your credit card. Instead of holding money, the renter signs a legal commitment (שטר חוב) for the value of the gear: for example, ₪5,000 for gear worth ₪5,000. If the gear comes back in one piece, nothing happens and nothing is ever charged. If it comes back damaged, the renter is liable for the cost, up to the amount on the note.
How it works
- The renter signs before the first pickupA one-time step: verify ID and sign the note.
- Owner and renter check the gear togetherAt handover, and again at return.
- If something is damaged, the renter is liableEven when it was an accident. The note guarantees the money.
- Panda Society handles itThe owner reports the damage to us, we deal with the renter, and the owner gets paid. No chasing anyone.

Questions
Can I rent anything today?
Not yet. We're opening in Tel Aviv soon. Leave your email and you'll hear first, before anyone else can book.
Who owns the gear?
People near you who bought tools for their own projects, and tradespeople who rent out kit between jobs.
What happens if something gets damaged?
The renter is liable, even for accidental damage. Every renter signs a promissory note for the full value of the gear before their first pickup, so the money is guaranteed, and Panda Society handles the claim so the owner never chases anyone. This applies to rentals booked through the platform.
I have gear sitting idle. Can I list it?
Yes, from launch. Choose "Rent out gear" in the form and we'll contact you before we open, so your gear is listed on day one.
What will it cost?
